The \u201clittle camp that cares\u201d is located by the Galana River and opposite the Galana Wildlife Conservancy, next to Tsavo East National Park.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Kulalu is perfect for a quick getaway, a romantic weekend or for family fun and adventure. Kulalu has a private atmosphere, with 5 luxury ensuite tents, a mess area for dining and relaxing, along with a well-stocked bar offering panoramic views of the river and the Lali Hills beyond. The \u2018Cuddle Puddle\u201d pool has an extended area around it for relaxing after a dip and also offers seating for meals.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Kulalu Camp is environmentally conscious with a power source running off solar which also provides hot water after a dusty day, we also collect all recyclables which are sent to EcoWorld for recycling as well as minimising the use of single-use plastics and composting all biodegradable materials. We are ever-conscious of the wonderful environment in which we are privileged to have our little camp. The dining and lounge areas are constructed in complete harmony with the surrounding bush, offering a real wilderness experience. Yet it provides a safe and comfortable place to quietly witness the animals and birds as the Galana River makes its way toward the Indian Ocean.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9ff9a64 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"9ff9a64\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Our Tents<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-553f79a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"553f79a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Kulalu Camp is a small and personal family camp. We have five private tents facing the Galana River, for front-row seats to the wildlife action on the other side.<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><strong>Simba<\/strong> (lion in Swahili) is closest to the main mess and dining area, with its double bed and ensuite bathroom. Perfect for families, Simba Toto is situated adjacent to Simba, sharing the same bathroom; and a twin tent for the kids.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Next door and Tent 2 is <strong>Twiga<\/strong>, which means \u201cgiraffe\u201d in Swahili. Twiga is a twin-bed tent with a private ensuite bathroom with a shower.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Tent 3 is <strong>Baraka<\/strong> (Blessings) and you will be truly blessed in this twin tent with the gentle sound of the river soothing your stresses and strains.<\/p><p class=\"p1\"><strong>Kanga<\/strong> or Guinea Fowl in Swahili, Tent 4 is at the end and is slightly elevated for panoramic views of the wildlife.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Set a little back from the river between Twiga and Baraka, is <strong>Mdinguni<\/strong> (Heaven). With the same great vista, Tent 5 is a little more private with its hammock to lie in and watch the world go by.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">All tents have a veranda, table and chairs, plus a relaxing daybed for private quiet times. Hot showers are available at 6 pm or on request. Every tent has ensuite bathrooms with a shower.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">While Kulalu is an escape, and retreat to take time out to absorb nature at its best, we do realise that you may want to connect to the \u201creal\u201d world and maybe share photos of your amazing adventures with us. For this we provide a WIFI Service, using the Safaricom network; although we are remote, we are fortunate to have a transmission mast just 5 km away in the Lali Hills. Also, a good Airtel network is available for mobile internet connections.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0311ed5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"0311ed5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Our Food<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-19a4620 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"19a4620\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"p1\">Food at Kulalu is renowned for its preparation and presentation. Baraka and Salim are our chefs. Mr Bush is our Camp Supervisor, Benja is our waiter and bartender and Masai looks after your rooms, we also have James Small (camp maintenance and gardener) and Baraka Small (our trainee) who will take care of you while you stay with us. Our experienced bush chefs provide a variety of cuisine using fresh produce brought in from the coast and sometimes supplemented by our kitchen garden, which is managed by James Small. The Kulalu experience is inclusive of three home-cooked meals. We also welcome self-drivers.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\">We have a wealth of wildlife to offer you in the Galana Wildlife Conservancy and Tsavo East National Park. 5 minutes and 20 minutes away respectively, these protected areas are home to families of lions, elephants, cheetah, leopard (if you are lucky) and all the plains game. There are other major\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kulalu.naiad-digital.co.ke\/index.php\/activities\/\"><span class=\"s1\">attractions<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to accompany the charismatic species; these include 207 species of birds for the \u201ctwitchers\u201d all within 2 km of camp and we can also provide Shaddy our guide for those extra special sightings. All roads are easily navigated in both conservation-protected areas.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\">As we are only one and a half hours from the beach we also offer special deals with our beach partners from Malindi and Watamu,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oceansports.net\/\"><span class=\"s1\">Ocean Sports Resort, Watamu<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheshale.com\/\"><span class=\"s1\">Che Shale<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for bush-to-beach packages. \u00a0You can enjoy the dolphins and dik-diks, lionfish and lions, buffalo and billfish.
